CASP was incorporated in 2004 as a Canadian, federally incorporated, not-for-profit Company and is governed by a volunteer board of directors representing the member companies. CASP was created in recognition of the fact that, although Canada has a wealth of agricultural and agro-industry capabilities, our industry associations, our institutions, and our agri-businesses are often too small or fragmented to independently play a full role in a global economy with a myriad of agricultural challenges and opportunities. CASP provides scale, comprehensive technical and management know-how, and substantial investment capability for appropriate international agricultural development initiatives.
